Smartpost Itella, part of Finland's Posti Group, will transition to the new SmartPosti brand in the first half of 2025, replacing the current Itella name and aligning itself even more closely with its parent company Posti Group. The transition to the SmartPosti brand name will take place in all three Baltic countries. In addition to the announcement of the rebrand, the company will also install its first outdoor parcel lockers this autumn.
Posti is one of the leading logistics companies in Finland, Sweden and the Baltics, offering a variety of services: parcel lockers, transport services, comprehensive warehouse logistics, courier and express delivery services. The company employs approximately 15,000 people in the countries where it operates.
“We offer our customers a reliable and fast logistics service chain, reaching thousands of businesses and consumers,” says Gediminas Mickus, Head of SmartPosti in the Baltics. “Our goal is to have a clear and consistent operation across all regions, which is why we have decided to use a unified Posti brand in both the Nordics and the Baltics (under the name SmartPosti in the Baltics and Posti in Sweden). By streamlining our operating models, we have been building a unified Posti for a long time. These changes will help us promote clarity both internally and with our customers,” he adds.
According to Mickus, operating under the unified Posti brand will help strengthen the company's image as a versatile and strong logistics partner. "Posti's strategic growth focus is on Sweden and the Baltics, and the unified brand supports our ambitions in these markets in the coming years," Mickus emphasizes.
The rebranding will be implemented in early 2025. At the same time, the construction of the new SmartPosti sorting center in Estonia, which began this summer in Rae municipality, is also scheduled to be completed. There have been approximately 14 million euros invested in the new sorting center, and it will be the largest Posti sorting center in the Baltics.
“The completion of the new sorting center will symbolically coincide with our transition to the Posti brand. Our goal remains to maintain our position as the leader in quality in the market and to quickly respond to changing market dynamics, which are currently driven by the growth of e-commerce,” explains Mickus.
To improve customer convenience, the company will install new outdoor parcel lockers this autumn, which will allow for 24/7 item ordering and pick-up.
The transition to the SmartPosti name in Latvia will begin in the first half of the new year. “These changes give us clear advantages in the market and strengthen our position in the logistics sector, helping to better meet the needs and expectations of our customers,” adds Gediminas Mickus.
