How to pick up an item from a SmartPosti locker

1. Receive a notice of arrival

Once your parcel is placed in the parcel locker, you'll receive an automatic arrival notification. The details include the parcel locker's address, locker number, parcel number and a unique PIN code for access.

Remember to pick up your parcel within 7 days to ensure it doesn’t get returned to the sender. The sooner, the better – this helps keep lockers available for others, too!

2. Go to the parcel locker All SmartPosti parcel lockers are indoors and accessible during the opening hours of the parcel locker location. See opening hours here.

3. Pick up the item To unlock the locker, enter C to clear any previous entries, your PIN code and then press OK (example: C 024204 OK). Please note that if you enter the code incorrectly 3 times, the locker will lock temporarily for 5 minutes. Just wait, and you’ll be able to try again. Meanwhile, you can double-check that you’re at the correct locker.

4. Close the locker Once you’ve picked up your parcel, give the locker door a firm push to make sure it’s fully closed and ready for the next user.

How to pick up an item from a SmartPosti parcel point

1. Receive a notice of arrival

When your parcel arrives at a parcel point, you'll receive an automatic notification with the address and location details of the parcel point, your parcel number and a unique PIN code for collection.

Please note you must pick up your parcel within 7 days before it is returned to the sender.

2. Go to the parcel point

SmartPosti parcel points are located at selected shops and kiosks. For indoor parcel points, you can collect your parcel inside the store. For outdoor counters, collection is available at the kiosk's designated service window.

Make sure to visit parcel points during shop or kiosk opening hours. You can find parcel point locations, opening hours and additional details here.

3. Pick up the item

Show or tell your unique PIN code to the parcel point employee at the counter. In rare cases you might need to show a personal ID and confirm the delivery manually.

Parcel storage times

Parcels stored in parcel lockers and delivered to parcel points are kept for 7 calendar days. If they aren’t picked up within this time, they’ll be sent back to the sender.

Need more time?

Unfortunately, extensions are currently unavailable for parcels stored in parcel lockers or delivered to a parcel point. But you can have someone you trust to pick up the parcel on your behalf.

If you don't pick up your parcel

If you haven't picked up your item by the last pick-up date, we will return it to the sender.

Parcel locker filling/emptying times

Parcel lockers are emptied daily to keep the delivery process smooth.

In Riga, most lockers are emptied at 12:00, with a few exceptions:

Sky Krasta is emptied at 10:00, while Galerija Centrs and Stockmann lockers are emptied at 11:00. Outside Riga, lockers are generally emptied at 11:00, with the exceptions of Madona and Varakļāni emptied at 9:00, and Aizpute, Cesvaine, Smiltene, Līvāni, Tukums, Ozolnieki and Pļaviņas emptied at 10:00.

Picking up an item for another person

You might not always have time to pick up your parcel, but no worries – someone else can easily do it for you.

From parcel lockers

If your parcel is in a parcel locker, simply share the arrival notification or the locker opening code with the trusted person who will collect it for you. Similarly, if you’re picking up an item for someone else, ask them to share their locker PIN code with you.

Of course, you'll only want to share the code with someone you really trust to keep your parcel secure!

Choosing preferred parcel lockers

Selecting your preferred parcel locker guarantees your parcel is delivered to the most convenient location for you, even if a specific parcel locker is unavailable at the time of delivery. You can also update your preferences when moving or planning extended travel for uninterrupted service. Here's how it works and how to set your preferences.

Setting your preferred parcel locker 1. Register on the self-service page 2. Go to "Settings" 3. Select your preferred parcel locker location from the "Preferred pick-up locations" list 4. Add up to three locations, ranking them by convenience

A few things to note

These preferences apply to any parcel with your phone number or email in the recipient information (the ones in your registered account). Additionally, the parcel must fit the locker dimensions and match the service type.

Ensure you select your preferred locations before ordering your parcel. If your chosen locker is full, your parcel will be redirected to the nearest available locker for timely delivery.
